Your journey begins in the heart of Čakovec, through the contemporarily interpreted space of the Treasury of Međimurje and the palace of the Museum of Međimurje, where the story of the Zrinski family – one of the most influential noble lines in Croatian history – is revealed. Through a multimedia exhibition and authentic stories, you will be introduced to the context of the times, the values, and the heritage that you will soon experience personally.
The guided tour is supported by expert guidance from museum curators. Tours are available in Croatian, English, and German. Audio guides are available in Croatian, English, German, and Hungarian.
As the day turns into evening, the atmosphere changes – you enter the ambience of the Old Town where the real spectacle begins.
You are greeted by guards in the atrium, and to the sounds of ceremony and the gathering of guests, the master of ceremonies opens the evening and announces the event. The moment that brings back the breath of history is a powerful cannon shot – the symbolic start to an unforgettable evening.
The following is a theatrical interpretation that introduces you deeper into the story of time, after which you enter a space where the boundaries between spectator and participant are blurred.
On arrival, you are greeted by guards with sabres, while costumed staff introduce you to the world of nobility and courtly customs.
The pinnacle of the evening is the arrival of Ban Petar Zrinski, who personally greets the guests and shares the story of his family's heritage, creating a powerful emotional moment that connects the past and present.
