📍 CAMINO MEĐIMURJE – STAMP # 3
The Church of St. Nicholas, Čakovec

Another stamp on the Camino Međimurje route leads us into the very heart of Čakovec – to the Church of St. Nicholas the Bishop.

This church, consecrated in 1750, is a testament to the long spiritual and cultural tradition of Međimurje.

Situated in the Franciscan complex, it exudes peace and quiet – a perfect place for a short break, reflection, and continuing your journey.

On the Camino, every church isn't just a dot on the map –
It's a moment to stop, breathe, and connect... with yourself.

Location: Čakovec
Seal: available at the church (depending on opening hours)

✨ Camino Međimurje – stamping stories

Every stamp on the Camino carries a part of the identity of the place through which we are passing.
Some speak quietly, and some talk for centuries.

✨ Today we present:
Stari grad Zrinskih, Čakovec
Zrinski Park 1, 40000 Čakovec

A place where history is not just recorded – but is still felt with every step.
The Old Town of Zrinski is a witness to the times, people, and stories that shaped Međimurje.

💛 The seal you get here isn't just proof of passing –
He is a reminder of:

the power of heritage
connection with the past
👉 the traces we leave behind

ℹ️ The seal is available during the opening hours of the Treasury of Međimurje.

On the Camino, we don't just pass through space –
we are going through time

✨ Camino Međimurje – stamping stories

On the Camino, we don't just clock up the miles.
We collect moments, encounters, and small signs that remind us where we've been.

One of them is seals.

Every seal carries its own story.
Every location has its feel.

In the coming days, I'll be taking you along the Camino Međimurje –
through his seals, places, and experiences. 💛

✨ Today we present the first seal:
📍 St. James' Church, Prelog

On every Camino, St James has a special place.
Not as a goal – but as a reminder of why we started.

💛 The seal you get here isn't just proof of passing –
He is a reminder of:

trust in the journey
Steps we still need to take
Believe that every time has its meaning

Perhaps it's the first seal that changes us the most.

🟡🔵 Waymarkers – small signs that lead to a great path

If you have ever walked the Camino route through Međimurje, you have surely noticed various markings along the path. They are not there by chance – each of them has its role and meaning.

➡️ The yellow arrow – your most important guide. It shows the direction of movement and leads you safely, step by step.

🌟 Seashell (symbol of the Camino route) – a sign that you are on the right route, part of a large European pilgrimage network.

Double or supplementary signs – used at junctions and important points to guide you and remove any doubt about which way to proceed.

The markers on the Camino are not just for navigation – they are quiet support on your journey. When you follow them, you can relax, slow down, and surrender to the experience of walking.

Because sometimes all you need to do is follow the arrow... and the path will open itself 💛

2. The Way in Croatia has medieval roots

What we call Camino routes today is actually a revival of paths that have existed since the Middle Ages.

Pilgrims from this part of Europe travelled towards Italy and further towards Spain, passing through these very regions. Today, when we walk the Camino in Croatia, we are not creating a new story – but continuing one that is centuries old.

This adds extra weight to every step.
